Anxiety and Depression Management

There could be various reasons behind considering counselling or psychotherapy.

You may be concerned about future decision making, having relationship difficulties, going through crises in your personal or working life or perhaps you may be experiencing overwhelming feelings of sadness, isolation, depression, anxiety, guilt or anger.

Counselling and psychotherapy offers you an opportunity to explore these feelings in a safe and caring environment. 
Through working therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect, my aim is to gain a good understanding of the difficulties you face and your goals for therapy. 

I can assist you by offering constructive challenges and help you identify your resources to meet your goals so you can find the way forward that feels right for you.

The concept behind Human Givens (HG) therapy is understanding that when one or more of our emotional needs (need for security, intimacy, community, attention, control, privacy, achievement, status and meaning) is not met in our environment, we can suffer considerable distress. Therefore experience symptoms of anxiety and/or depression.

My aim as a HG therapist is to help you manage and alleviate anxiety and/or depressive symptoms, which often stem from unmet needs. 

During our sessions, I would help you to identify current unmet needs. In collaboration with you, we would set positive, achievable tasks for you to work on between sessions, which would assist you moving towards your desired goals. 

I would use problem solution, here and now approach to therapy, build on your confidence and draw upon your inner and life resources to bring about positive change so you can feel more in control, calm and happier going forward. 

I believe that counselling is a way of reducing confusion and it can help you to discover your inner strength and confidence.  It offers you an opportunity to gain better self-awareness and acceptance of yourself and others so you can lead more rewarding and fulfilling life.
