About Me

My name is Alena Quartermaine, Human Givens therapist based in Shepperton, Surrey.

Prior to qualifying as a Human Givens (HG) therapist, I have been practicing as an integrative counsellor for over 17 years.

I had worked as a volunteer counsellor at the Fenix Centre (formerly known as the Open door) in Feltham, counselling self and GP's referred clients.

I had also provided my services as a remote CBT therapist for Priory, Hayes.

At the present, apart from working privately using HG approach, I offer integrative counselling to university students via ProblemShared platform and I am also an affiliated counsellor using brief,  solution focused therapy for Health Assured, UK’s and Ireland’s leading EAP and wellbeing provider.

I hold an Edexcel Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, NCFE Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Counselling Skills and Theory and the Professional Diploma in Human Givens therapy.

As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a registered member of the Human Givens Institute MHGI, I adhere to BACP's and HGI’s ethical frameworks. I am a member of ico and hold an up to date DBS certificate. I am fully insured and receive an ongoing supervision and CPD trainings.  

My special interest is in anxiety, panic attacks and depression management.
